Today is the World Food Day 2012. Among the many other issues we are currently being challenged with, hunger is the easiest one to solve. Sounds ironic, but it is true. However it would require a coordinated action, which will be hard to achieve as long as current governments keep themselves focused only on lucrative activities and enterprises.
We might not be able to change the present global scenario all of a sudden, but we ARE able to keep an attitude toward it and, within our closest circles, promote equality, cooperation and social conciousness. FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and other innitiatives like WFP (World Food Programe) give us the chance to have an active role in the task of ending hunger. Take a look at the following clip and meet Molly :) You will get to know Molly and Yvonne, her best friend, and you will discover that even the CNN interviewed her some time ago!
At the end of the clip, you will see a link to take a quiz. Please, take the quiz and, if you get the three answers correct, you will provide them with a school meal!! Right now they have achived almost 30.000 school meals!! Think that this meal is a key element for their growth and development, being, besides, an extra motivation to school too!!! I think I have just given you all enough hints to pass the quiz… ;)

In the last four years it is becoming apparent that humanity knows how to work under pressure. These are difficult times in all areas, but they are brewing a global consciousness that is cornering the prevailing indifference typical during buoyant times. We have lost the fear of pulling the blanket. In the darkest moment is when the small lights illuminate more and inspire others to ignite. That is what is happening. You may need this “blackout” for humanity and its consciousness to re-ignite brighter than ever. Because a global change is possible.
Please do not fail to pay attention to this initiative that is going around the world as a result of the tension that exists now between Iran and Israel. And let’s go further beyond. Let’s make it inspire any conflict at any level. Unfortunately there are many cases like this (Israel, host, towards its neighbour, guest, hostage Palestine). But there are too many of us to make ourselves heard. The planet is beating for the first time, not only to the rhythm of bombs.
